“Echo” is a vocal word, however, which has been transformed to a visual image in this artwork. The major factors related to “echo” is the relation between “subject” and “object” as the major concept of the work. As echo, there must be a real voice, a subject, and it hits the solid and bounces around the site. Then the sound of echo is created and travels through molecular and dust in the air. So echo here is regarded as an object. In the work, the structure of the site and the lines are the subjective bodies, while the shadow projected by light is objective. “Subject” and “Object” are perfectly connected to each other here. The structure of the site, the lines and the switches of light compose various transformations of shadow, which is turned to be sharp or vague depending on the movements of light and the dimensions of the space, as echo is blurred by the terrain and air flows. Fabric line has been used because of its characteristics to wrap between the structures, and to attach one point to another. The use of two sizes of width of lines refers to the technique of sketch. Thick lines are portraying the outlook of the work; thin lines the details. The domain, which has been framed by lines, holds kind of religious, sacred atmosphere.
